Chief Stealth, both an animistic and Paleolithic Chief, affects the document's sagacious tone by proffesing his views on both his tribe and "the Great Chief's " civilization. He does this when he mentions our way of treating land, indirectly referring to pollution, and his tribe's way of treating land, which was treasuring it.

By which if the U.S. government would have gave anybody else this offer they would’ve had a completely different thought process. As part of being a chief in a hunter gatherer society, you have to know what is best for your tribe because that is all that you have and that is what you depend on. Based on this, I feel that Chief Seattle felt a little disrespected by this offer from the government.
