7/10, i really liked this song because of the story in it. i loved the element of mischief and trying to get away with something so passionate, and then the end i loved just as much when matty and the wife were killed. i really liked how the duke (or lord ??? can't remember what they called him ) gave matty a sword, saying he'd never be known to kill a helpless man. i like the pride in that even though he knew he'd win.

This song was not really that great until I read the lyrics. The instrumental I thought was ok but not great. The story behind the lyrics won me over because they were funny other than that I didn’t like anything else. The song was a 6 out of 10

It was a 7 for me because I liked the way the song tell Mary Grove's story without a personal opinion, also I liked the pitch and voice of the singer and the tempo, I thing that the melody might not be a "normal" song that you could hear as a background and that is what makes it interesting and draws you more to the story tell.

Though I do love the occassional story of medieval love and loss this one simply does not register with me very well. The tone of the singer heavily reminds me of church music with its ballad style and non personal low pitch. The lyrics seem like a rather good story but not to me personally since this story literally is about a guy who kills his wife even though they're probably not in a loving relationship. I do like some parts of the lyrics though, Matty B seems like a real good guy to hang out with since he simply does not back down even when he's going to die; horribly. Overall, I would give this song a five.

There was just a funny story to this song when you break down the lyrics.

I dislike this because of the tempo and beat sounded more like country than electric folk. I give this song a 4

This song was very upbeat and happy. The melody was catchy and the lyrics were meaningful while all telling a story. This song was great and it’s something I would consider listening too in my free time.
